AUTOMATED PUBLISHING SERVICES TERMS & CONDITIONS
Effective Date: September 18, 2026
These Automated Publishing Services Terms & Conditions (“Automated Services Terms”) apply to Cosmo Publishing’s Automated Publishing Services purchased through Cosmo Publishing’s applicable order and intake process.
These Automated Services Terms apply specifically to the Automated Publishing Services identified below. They supplement Cosmo Publishing’s general Terms of Use. By purchasing an Automated Publishing Service and accepting these Automated Services Terms, the customer agrees to the provisions applicable to the service or services purchased.
1. Automated Publishing Services
These Automated Services Terms apply to the following services:
- Amazon Book Setup
- Beta Reader Questions
- Beta Reader Evaluation
- Book Launch Plan
- Character Bios
- Interior Formatting
- Social Media Content Plan
A customer may purchase one or more Automated Publishing Services in a single order.
Unless Cosmo Publishing expressly states otherwise, one Unified Intake order applies to one book or manuscript. All manuscript-based services selected within that order will use the manuscript submitted for that order unless the nature of a particular service expressly requires different files.
Beta Reader Evaluation is an exception because it uses completed Beta Reader Questionnaires and, when purchased, corresponding annotated manuscripts rather than the shared source manuscript.
2. Automated Processing and Human Quality Review
Cosmo Publishing’s Automated Publishing Services use automated systems and, where appropriate to the particular service, artificial intelligence-assisted technologies to analyze customer-provided materials and produce service deliverables.
Automated for efficiency. Human-reviewed for quality.
Completed service deliverables are subject to administrative quality review by Cosmo Publishing before delivery to the customer.
Administrative quality review is a quality-control process. It does not mean that a Cosmo Publishing employee independently recreates the service, manually verifies every factual statement or recommendation, performs a separate professional editorial analysis, or substitutes a human-created deliverable for the automated output.
3. Customer Materials and AI Training
Cosmo Publishing does not use customer manuscripts, uploaded files, questionnaire responses, intake answers, or other customer-provided content to train artificial intelligence models.
Customer-provided materials may be processed by automated and AI-assisted systems solely as necessary to provide, validate, administer, review, and deliver the Automated Publishing Services purchased by the customer.
Customer materials are not submitted by Cosmo Publishing for the purpose of training artificial intelligence models.
4. Customer Information and Submitted Materials
The customer is responsible for providing complete and accurate information reasonably required to perform the selected services.
The customer represents that the customer has the right and authority to submit all manuscripts, questionnaires, annotated manuscripts, and other materials supplied to Cosmo Publishing for processing.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that uploaded files are the intended versions of the materials to be processed and for retaining original copies of all submitted materials.
Unless a particular service expressly permits otherwise, manuscript-based Automated Publishing Services require a supported and readable Microsoft Word DOCX manuscript.
Cosmo Publishing may automatically inspect submitted files for technical and service-specific requirements, including file validity, word count, password protection, unresolved comments or Track Changes, and other conditions relevant to processing.
5. Customer File Retention and Deletion
Manuscripts, completed Beta Reader Questionnaires, annotated manuscripts, and other customer-uploaded files submitted for Automated Publishing Services are retained only as necessary to process and administer the applicable services.
Customer-uploaded files are scheduled for deletion from Cosmo Publishing’s automated processing systems 30 days after the date on which each file is uploaded, regardless of the date on which processing or delivery is completed.
If a customer subsequently uploads a replacement or additional file, that newly uploaded file has its own 30-day retention period beginning on the date it is uploaded. Uploading a replacement or additional file does not extend the retention period of a previously uploaded file.
Customers are responsible for retaining their own original copies of all materials submitted to Cosmo Publishing. Cosmo Publishing’s Automated Publishing Services should not be relied upon as permanent file storage or backup.
Cosmo Publishing may retain non-content administrative records associated with an order, including records identifying when a file was received, scheduled for deletion, or deleted, without retaining the customer-uploaded file itself.
6. Manuscript Word Count
Where service eligibility or price depends on manuscript word count, Cosmo Publishing may determine the word count automatically from the uploaded manuscript.
Where Cosmo Publishing calculates the manuscript word count automatically, the customer is not required to estimate or select a word-count pricing tier.
The word count calculated by Cosmo Publishing’s system will determine the applicable service pricing or eligibility under the published pricing structure.
Word-count calculation is an automated technical process and does not require artificial-intelligence analysis of the manuscript.
7. Payment and Authorization to Process
Submission of an intake form does not by itself authorize production.
Cosmo Publishing may receive and retain information and files submitted through the intake process even if the customer subsequently leaves checkout without completing payment, subject to the file-retention provisions of these Automated Services Terms.
Automated production begins only after the applicable payment requirements have been satisfied and the individual service passes its required validation gates.
If payment is not completed, Cosmo Publishing is not obligated to perform or deliver the selected services.
8. Multi-Service Orders
Each Automated Publishing Service purchased in a multi-service order is treated as an independently processable service within the same customer project.
Payment may authorize processing of the order, but each selected service remains subject to its own eligibility, file, validation, and processing requirements.
A problem affecting one selected service does not necessarily prevent other eligible services in the same order from proceeding.
If one service cannot process the submitted materials but other purchased services pass their applicable requirements, the eligible services may continue while the affected service is placed on hold.
Cancellation, correction, delay, or other administrative action affecting one service does not automatically apply to the remaining services in the same order.
9. Validation and Administrative Holds
Cosmo Publishing may place an individual service on administrative hold if submitted materials or information:
- are incomplete;
- cannot be reliably processed;
- do not satisfy the requirements of the selected service;
- contain technical problems;
- conflict with other information supplied with the order;
- require clarification or correction; or
- may require review under the Cosmo Automated Publishing Services Content Policy; or
- otherwise prevent reliable processing.
Where reasonably possible, Cosmo Publishing may permit the problem to be corrected so that processing can resume.
After an issue is addressed, Cosmo Publishing may revalidate the affected service before automated processing resumes.
A service placed on hold does not necessarily prevent other valid services in the same order from continuing.
10. Cancellation of an Individual Service
If an affected service cannot reasonably proceed, Cosmo Publishing may cancel that individual service without cancelling other services in the same order.
Once an individual service is cancelled, automated processing of that service will stop.
Any applicable refund will be handled separately according to the payment circumstances, nature and stage of the service, these Automated Services Terms, and Cosmo Publishing’s applicable refund policies.
Cancellation or refund of one service does not automatically cancel or refund other successfully processable services purchased in the same order.
11. Customized Services, Revisions, and Regeneration
Automated Publishing Services produce customized deliverables based on the customer’s submitted manuscript, files, selections, and other information.
Unless a particular service expressly states otherwise, purchase of an Automated Publishing Service includes the generation or preparation specified in the service description and does not include unlimited revisions, repeated regeneration, alternative versions, or additional processing at the customer’s request.
An error attributable to Cosmo Publishing’s processing may be reviewed separately from a customer’s request to change previously supplied information, replace source materials, change preferences, add information omitted from the original submission, or obtain a different result.
12. Customer Review of Deliverables
Customers are responsible for reviewing delivered materials before publishing, distributing, uploading, implementing, or otherwise relying upon them.
Automated and AI-assisted systems can produce omissions, inaccuracies, unsuitable recommendations, or other errors despite validation procedures and human administrative quality review.
The customer retains final control over whether and how a deliverable is used.
Cosmo Publishing’s administrative quality review does not replace the customer’s responsibility to review the final deliverable for suitability for the customer’s book and intended use.
13. Delivery Time
Where a selected Automated Publishing Service specifies delivery within 48 business hours, Cosmo Publishing will maintain that commitment when:
- payment has been successfully completed;
- all required information and files have been supplied;
- the service passes applicable validation requirements; and
- no issue arises that requires customer action or exceptional administrative resolution before processing can continue.
The ordinary automated production process and Cosmo Publishing’s standard human administrative quality review are part of the normal service workflow and do not, by themselves, suspend the 48-business-hour delivery period.
If processing is prevented by an invalid, incomplete, unsupported, mismatched, inaccessible, or otherwise unusable submission, or by another problem requiring customer action or exceptional administrative resolution, the 48-business-hour delivery period may be suspended until the affected service is able to proceed.
This 48-business-hour commitment applies only to services for which Cosmo Publishing expressly states a 48-business-hour delivery period. It does not create a 48-business-hour commitment for other Automated Publishing Services.
SERVICE-SPECIFIC TERMS
14. Amazon Book Setup
Amazon Book Setup provides manuscript-based analysis and preparation of information intended to assist the customer with setting up or improving the presentation and positioning of a book on Amazon.
The service may include recommendations concerning categories, keywords, book descriptions, positioning, target audience, or other Amazon book information according to the current service description.
Cosmo Publishing does not guarantee sales, rankings, discoverability, reviews, visibility, or any other commercial outcome resulting from the service.
Amazon’s systems, requirements, categories, policies, interfaces, and available options may change without notice. Recommendations are based on information reasonably available when the service is performed.
The customer retains final responsibility for reviewing and implementing recommendations.
Cosmo Publishing does not require access to the customer’s Amazon or KDP account and does not upload, publish, or modify the customer’s KDP account as part of this service unless a separate service expressly states otherwise.
Information supplied by the customer concerning target readers, existing publication status, or similar positioning information may be considered as customer-provided context. Cosmo Publishing’s manuscript analysis is not required to adopt or agree with the customer’s characterization of the manuscript.
15. Beta Reader Questions
Beta Reader Questions produces a customized 15-question questionnaire consisting of 10 essential questions and 5 manuscript-specific targeted questions based on the submitted manuscript.
The service prepares the questionnaire only.
Unless separately purchased, Beta Reader Questions does not:
- provide or recruit beta readers;
- distribute the manuscript or questionnaire to beta readers;
- collect beta-reader responses;
- evaluate completed questionnaires;
- analyze annotated manuscripts; or
- edit the customer’s manuscript.
The completed questionnaire receives a Cosmo Questionnaire ID in the BQ-#### format. That identifier may be required for a subsequent Beta Reader Evaluation.
The service provides one customized questionnaire for the submitted manuscript. Customer-requested alternative questionnaires, regenerated questions, or revisions are not included unless Cosmo Publishing expressly agrees otherwise.
The customer remains responsible for reviewing the questionnaire and deciding how it is used with beta readers.
16. Beta Reader Evaluation
Beta Reader Evaluation requires a valid Cosmo Beta Reader Questionnaire and associated BQ-#### Questionnaire ID.
The Questionnaire ID entered by the customer, the identifier contained in the submitted questionnaire, and Cosmo Publishing’s applicable record may be compared before processing. A mismatch may result in the service being placed on hold.
Only completed Beta Reader Questionnaires submitted with the applicable order will be included in that evaluation.
Where annotated-manuscript evaluation is purchased, each annotated manuscript must correspond to the appropriate beta reader and completed questionnaire.
The customer is responsible for correctly identifying and pairing reader information and files and for having authority to provide those materials to Cosmo Publishing.
The usefulness and depth of an evaluation depend in part upon the quality, completeness, specificity, and accuracy of the feedback supplied by the customer’s beta readers.
Cosmo Publishing cannot guarantee that beta-reader comments will be accurate, useful, internally consistent, or sufficient to support a particular conclusion.
Comments placed directly into manuscript copies may be valuable to the author but are analyzed only where the applicable annotated-manuscript evaluation has been purchased and the corresponding annotated manuscript has been properly submitted.
17. Book Launch Plan
Book Launch Plan provides a customized written launch plan based on the submitted manuscript and customer-supplied information concerning launch readiness, distribution, existing platforms, audience, promotional resources, budget, available time, promotional preferences, and goals.
The service provides a written plan. It does not include execution of the launch campaign, advertising purchases, media placement, direct marketing, account management, or implementation of recommendations unless separately contracted.
Cosmo Publishing does not guarantee sales, rankings, audience growth, publicity, reviews, advertising performance, profitability, or any other launch result.
The customer remains responsible for deciding which recommendations to implement and for complying with applicable laws, contractual requirements, advertising requirements, and platform policies.
The customer is responsible for accurately describing existing platforms, resources, budget, audience, and other information used to develop the plan.
Book Launch Plan requires a book that has not already been publicly released and a manuscript that is complete and structurally final.
One Book Launch Plan is provided per purchased service. Customer-requested alternative plans or revisions are not included unless expressly stated otherwise.
18. Character Bios
Character Bios generates bios for characters identified by the customer from the submitted manuscript.
The customer must enter each requested character name exactly as it appears in the manuscript or in a manner that allows Cosmo Publishing’s processing system to reliably associate the submitted name with the intended manuscript character.
Cosmo Publishing may decline to generate a bio where a submitted name cannot be reliably matched to a character in the manuscript.
Cosmo Publishing will not intentionally fabricate a Character Bio for an unmatchable submitted name.
The customer is responsible for misspellings, omitted characters, incorrect names, aliases, or name variations supplied with the order.
Unless otherwise stated, purchase includes one generation run for the character names submitted with the order. A customer’s omission of a character or submission of an incorrect or unmatchable name does not by itself entitle the customer to an additional generation or refund.
Character Bios may contain spoilers, including information concerning character development, relationships, motivations, revelations, conflicts, or outcomes appearing in the manuscript.
19. Interior Formatting
Interior Formatting provides formatting services for the customer’s supplied manuscript. It is not an editing service.
Cosmo Publishing formats the content supplied by the customer and is not responsible for substantive editing, proofreading, rewriting, fact-checking, or correcting manuscript content unless separately contracted.
Formatting is performed according to the format, trim size, template or style, and other supported options selected by the customer and the technical capabilities and limitations stated for the service.
The service may impose limitations involving images, tables, charts, complex layouts, external URLs, or other manuscript elements.
Where submitted material exceeds or conflicts with supported formatting capabilities, the service may be placed on hold for administrative review.
Templates and supported formatting rules control the design produced by the service. The customer is responsible for reviewing completed formatted files before publication.
External URLs appearing in a manuscript are not necessarily verified for accuracy, availability, security, or continued operation.
Cosmo Publishing does not require access to the customer’s KDP account to perform Interior Formatting and does not upload or publish the formatted book to KDP as part of this service unless separately stated.
20. Social Media Content Plan
Social Media Content Plan provides one customized 30-post social media content plan based on the submitted manuscript.
The manuscript is the primary source material for this service. Unless expressly supported by the service, cover artwork, reference images, supplementary notes, or special instructions are not automatically incorporated into the generated plan.
Where the service provides visual concepts or image-generation prompts, those materials are suggestions. The service does not include generation of corresponding images unless expressly stated.
Cosmo Publishing does not guarantee that a suggested visual concept or prompt will generate a particular image or precisely match the customer’s expectations when used with an image-generation system.
The service includes one customized 30-post plan. Customer-requested additional generations, alternative plans, or revisions are not included unless expressly stated otherwise.
Cosmo Publishing does not guarantee engagement, follower growth, sales, reach, impressions, platform performance, or other social-media results.
GENERAL SERVICE PROVISIONS
21. No Guarantee of Commercial Results
Automated Publishing Services provide publishing-related deliverables and assistance. They do not guarantee publication acceptance, sales, rankings, discoverability, reviews, reader response, profitability, audience growth, advertising performance, or other commercial outcomes.
22. Third-Party Platforms
Some deliverables may relate to third-party platforms, including Amazon and social-media services.
Cosmo Publishing does not control those platforms and cannot guarantee continued availability of any feature, category, specification, policy, interface, or other third-party requirement.
Customers remain responsible for verifying current platform requirements before implementing a deliverable.
23. Customer Materials
The customer retains whatever rights the customer lawfully holds in manuscripts and other customer-provided materials.
Submission of materials to Cosmo Publishing grants Cosmo Publishing permission to process those materials only to the extent reasonably necessary to validate, perform, administer, review, and deliver the purchased Automated Publishing Services.
This permission does not authorize Cosmo Publishing to use customer-provided content to train artificial intelligence models.
The customer represents that processing the submitted materials for the purchased service does not violate the rights of another person or entity.
24. Service Errors and Administrative Review
If the customer believes a delivered service contains a processing error attributable to Cosmo Publishing, the customer should notify Cosmo Publishing with sufficient information to identify the alleged error.
Cosmo Publishing may review the underlying submission, processing record, and delivered material to determine the appropriate resolution.
A customer request to change preferences, replace source material after processing, provide information omitted from the original order, or obtain a different result is not necessarily a processing error and does not automatically entitle the customer to regeneration, revision, or refund.
25. Refunds and Final-Sale Services
Because Automated Publishing Services produce customized digital deliverables from customer-specific materials, completed customized services may be designated final sale as stated in the applicable service description and these Automated Services Terms.
A service that Cosmo Publishing cannot perform after payment because of a processing or eligibility issue may be handled separately, including administrative correction, cancellation, or an applicable refund.
Where a service cannot be performed because submitted material violates the Cosmo Automated Publishing Services Content Policy after the customer represented during intake that the material complied, the applicable service fee may be non-refundable as provided in Section 28.
A problem affecting one service in a multi-service order does not automatically create a right to refund unrelated services that have been or can be successfully performed.
Nothing in this section limits any rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable law.
26. Relationship to Other Cosmo Publishing Services
These Automated Services Terms apply specifically to Cosmo Publishing’s Automated Publishing Services.
Cosmo Publishing may separately offer traditional or human-provided publishing services. Purchase of an Automated Publishing Service does not include traditional human editing, consulting, design, marketing, publishing, or other professional services unless those services are expressly included in the purchased service description.
27. Relationship to Cosmo Publishing’s General Terms
Use of the Cosmo Publishing website and the customer’s relationship with Cosmo Publishing remain subject to Cosmo Publishing’s applicable general Terms of Use, including general legal provisions not repeated in these Automated Services Terms.
If a provision of these Automated Services Terms specifically addresses the purchase, validation, processing, administration, or delivery of an Automated Publishing Service, that service-specific provision applies to the Automated Publishing Service to the extent necessary to address that subject.
28. Content Eligibility and Customer Representation
Cosmo Publishing’s Automated Publishing Services are subject to the Cosmo Automated Publishing Services Content Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Customers are responsible for reviewing the Content Policy before submitting materials for an Automated Publishing Service.
During the intake process, customers are required to confirm whether submitted material complies with the Content Policy. By confirming compliance, the customer represents that the submitted material satisfies the eligibility requirements stated in the Content Policy.
Cosmo Publishing may use automated systems to screen submitted materials for potential Content Policy issues. An automated flag does not, by itself, constitute a determination that submitted material violates the Content Policy. Material identified for potential review may be placed on hold pending administrative review by Cosmo Publishing.
If administrative review determines that submitted material violates the Content Policy after the customer represented during intake that the material complied, Cosmo Publishing may decline or discontinue the affected Automated Publishing Service. Fees paid for an affected service may be non-refundable when the service cannot be performed because the submitted material violates the Content Policy contrary to the customer’s intake representation.
A Content Policy issue affecting one service in a multi-service order does not necessarily prevent other eligible services in the same order from proceeding.
Cosmo Publishing may also decline or discontinue an Automated Publishing Service when submitted material cannot reasonably be processed because of applicable law, safety requirements, third-party platform requirements, technical limitations, or limitations of the service.
Cosmo Publishing’s determination that submitted material is eligible for an Automated Publishing Service does not represent, warrant, or guarantee that the material will be accepted, published, distributed, sold, promoted, or otherwise permitted by any publisher, retailer, distributor, marketplace, social-media platform, advertising platform, or other third party. Customers remain responsible for determining and complying with any applicable third-party requirements.
